Major Bucharest boulevard opens to pedestrians for one weekend
Calea Victoriei, one of the busiest boulevards in downtown Bucharest, will be closed for traffic once again, in the weekend after June 1 – Children’s Day.
A new edition of La pas pe Calea Victoriei (Walking on Calea Victoriei) will be organized on June 3-4, between 10:00 and 21:00, according to a statement from the Bucharest City Hall. In this period, Calea Victoriei will become a pedestrian area on the segment between Victoriei Square and George Enescu street.
Street artists, mimes, giant dolls, musicians, and cartoonists will entertain the public, the program also including creation workshops, theater plays, and concerts.
The visitors will also be able to buy souvenirs at the event, such as handmade products, accessories, ceramics, and photos of the old Bucharest.
Calea Victoriei was previously closed for traffic on the Easter weekend.
