Manufacturing and mining boost Romania’s industry turnover by 15.6% in 2011
The industry turnover in Romania went up by 15.6 percent in 2011 over the previous year, mainly due to the growth in the manufacturing sector - up 15.9 percent, and the mining sector - up 8.3 percent, according to the Romanian National Statistics Institute (INS). By main industrial groups, increases in turnover were recorded in all sectors.
In December 2011 compared to the same month in 2010, the industry turnover went up by 4.3 percent, due to the increases reported in mining - up 7.2 percent, and manufacturing sector - up 4.2 percent.
On a month-on-month basis, the industry turnover in December 2011 decreased by 10.2 percent.
