Manufacturing and mining bring industrial turnover up for Romania in seven months
Romania’s industry turnover in the first seven months, for both domestic and foreign markets, has increased by 9.9% compared to the same period the previous year, according to data from the National Statistics Institute.
The increase was mainly recorded due to the growth of 9.9% registered by the manufacturing industry and the 8.8% increase in mining and quarrying.
On main industrial groups, there were increases in all sectors: energy industry – up 26.9%, durable goods – up 12.2%, intermediate goods – 9.2%, capital goods – 9%, and consumer goods – 5.6%.
In July, the industry turnover increased by 2.7% month-on-month and by 4.4% compared to the same month in 2013, according to INS data.
