Maramures County Council in Romania signs financing agreement for EUR 50 mln waste management system project
Maramures County Council in Romania has signed a financing agreement for the “Integrated Waste Management System in Maramures County” project with total value of some RON 230 million (or some EUR 51 million), of which the non-refundable amount is RON 206 million (around EUR 46 million).
“The general objective of the project is to develop in Maramures county a sustainable waste management system at European standards,” reads a statement of the council.
The project involves the construction of three transfer stations in Moisei (31,000 tonnes per year), Targu Lapus (10,000 tonnes per year) and Sighetu Marmatiei (25,000 tonnes per year),as well as an intregrated waste management center at Sarbi.
The project also includes the construction of seven bulky waste collection centers in Baia Mare, Targu Lapus, Seini, Somcuta Mare, Sighetu Marmatiei, Viseu de Sus and Borsa.
The financing agreement will enter into force after it will be signed by the environment minister, its duration being until December 31, 2015.
