Martin Skopek leaves board of Romanian lender BCR, replaced by Romanian Dana Demetrian
Martin Skopek has decided to leave the board of Romanian lender BCR to consolidate personal and professional priorities, and was replaced by Dana Demetrian, who will be responsible for Retail and Private Banking. Her appointment is subject of approval by the National Bank of Romania, according to BCR.
“I accepted Martin´s decision to consolidate personal and professional priorities. He has achieved a lot during his career at Erste and has shaped our retail business over the last years substantially. We owe him a lot of our success in this area,” said Andreas Treichl, CEO of Erste Group.
Skopek might be appointed to the Supervisory Board of Erste’s Ceska Sporitelna, Treich added. “I want to thank Martin for being an active member of ERSTE Group in last 15 years and especially for going back to BCR in 2012 to help BCR organization to go through the Turnaround period,” the Erste CEO has said.
His replacement in the BCR board, Dana Demetrian, has more than 10 years of experience in top level positions overseeing retail banking operations of leading banking groups in Romania. She has been with BCR since 2012, where she is currently executive director of the retail network division, and until end-2011, she worked with BRD for 7 years.
She is a graduate of Computer Science Polytechnic University – Bucharest, and holds a Master degree from the Academy of Economic Studies – Bucharest, as well as an MBA diploma from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers – Paris. Her full CV on LinkedIn is here.
