McDonald’s reaches 68 restaurants in Romania after ParkLake mall opening
McDonald’s, the biggest restaurant chain in Romania, opened its 68 local restaurant on Thursday, in the new ParkLake mall in Bucharest.
The new restaurant covers 118 sqm and has required an investment of some RON 2.5 million (EUR 560,000). It also includes a McCafe.
The restaurant is also the first in Romania where the new platform integration operating system has been introduced. This system comes with significant changes in the way the kitchen is organized and the customers experience in the restaurant, according to McDonald’s Romania representatives.
The customer interaction is digital, which allows the clients to order while waiting in line and shortens the serving time.
McDonald’s Romania is part of Premier Capital, a group that also holds the McDonald’s franchises in Greece, Malta, and the Baltics. The company has 68 restaurants in 21 cities in Romania and over 4,000 employees who serve over 190,000 customers each day.
McDonald’s Romania has invested over EUR 180 million in Romania since the opening of its first restaurant here, more than 20 years ago. The restaurant chain had a turnover of EUR 115 million and a net profit of EUR 10 million in 2015.
