McDonald’s Romania buys potatoes from Austria
Austrian potato processor Lamb Weston, which is a supplier for McDonald’s, will reach EUR 10.4 million investments in modernizing its factory in Hollabrunn, Austria, which produces potatoes for the McDonald’s restaurants in Romania.
Lamb Weston has already invested EUR 7.8 million between 2012 and 2014, and will invest another EUR 2.6 million by 2016, reports local Mediafax. The company delivers potatoes in 20 countries.
McDonald’s estimates that Romanians will consume 5,500 tons of fries in its restaurants this year, 14% more compared to last year. The factory in Hollabrunn processes 2,000 tons of potatoes weekly, bought from farms in Austria.
