Media: Orange could make acquisitions in Romania
French telecom company Orange plans to make acquisitions in Spain, according to Stephane Richard, the company’s general manager. However, he added that there are many countries, such as Belgium, Poland and Romania, where there could be potential acquisition targets, reports local Mediafax.
‘But if one had to mention only one country for us, it would be Spain,” he said while at a conference in the south of France.
Orange Romania’s revenues were up 4.9 percent in the first quarter of the year, to EUR 230 million, on a comparable basis, the company announced. End-March 2014, Orange has 10.3 million clients in Romania, measured as active SIMs, up from 10.2 million at the end of 2013.
Orange's main competitors in Romania are Vodafone and Cosmote.
