Media: Romanian Sorin Stancu coordinates Marks & Spencer’s EUR 20 mln business in the Balkans

After 15 years with the Romanian RTC group, Sorin Stancu, 40, has moved to coordinating Marks & Spencer’s operations in six countries in the Balkans, writes local Wall-street.ro. Stancu's CV is here.

In Romania, the retailer opened the first store in 2000 and currently runs six units across the country, in Bucharest, Constanta and Iasi. Last year, Marks & Spencer opened two stores, one in Romania’s Constanta and one in Sofia, Bulgaria.

For this year, the retailer doesn’t have any new openings in plan, writes Wall-street.ro.

At a group level, Marks & Spencer ended 2013 with a turnover of GBP 10 billion, up 1.3 percent year-n-year, while the international operations represented GBP 1.1 billion, up 4.5 percent against 2012.

Without further information, Sorin Stancu stated that the sales in Romania went up 10 percent last year, reports Wall-street.ro.
