Media: Romania’s PM spends his vacation cruising in the Caribbean

Romania’s Prime Minister Victor Ponta took a one week cruise in the Caribbean on the Oasis of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, according to sources quoted by Euractiv.ro.

Victor Ponta went on holiday with his family at the end of July. He was photographed in a coffee shop in Miami on July 30 and one August 1 he embarked on the Oasis of the Seas from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to Euractiv.ro.

The cruise passes through Haiti, Jamaica, and Mexico. The Oasis of the Sea has a golf course, a shopping alley, restaurants, five pools, basketball courts, wave simulators for surfing, an ice skating rink, and several concert halls.

The ship, which was finished in 2009, is operated by the Royal Caribbean International. It is over 360 meters long and 72 meters high, and can carry up to 6,000 passengers. Its crew is made of more than 2,000 people.

A one week cruise in a de luxe suite is about USD 5,900 in this period of the season, according to company officials quoted by Euroactiv.ro.
