Local retailer Mega Image could launch an online store.

The company registered the name Mega Online at the Romanian State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (OSIM), reports local Dailybusiness.ro.

Company representatives said they only registered the Mega Online trade to secure the domain for a possible future use.

A Mega Image online store could raise questions on the future of the partnership between Mega Image and the online retailer eMag. The two companies last year launched an online store with over 7,500 articles.

Mega Image currently has a network of 411 stores in Bucharest, Constanta, Ploiesti, Pitesti, Brasov and Targoviste.
