Mega Image, one of the biggest retailers in Romania, will open its first shop under the brand Gusturi Romanesti (Romanian Tastes). The store sells a wide array of Romanian food, made after traditional and authentic recipes from all Romanian regions.

Mega Image launched the Gusturi Romanesti private label brand for Romanian products six years ago.

“The Gusturi Romanesti shop launch is a natural next step in our commitment to developing the traditional product segment and the Gusturi Romanesti brand,” said Xavier Piesvaux, general manager of Mega Image.

The first Gusturi Romanesti shop has 134 sqm of selling space and replaces one of the Angst shops that Mega Image bought in 2014. It is located in Bucharest, on Ion Mihalache Boulevard at 104.

The shop sells fruits and vegetables, dairy, deli, frozen food, fresh meat, bread, cooked food, sweets, beverages, as well as handicraft products. It will also have other Romanian brands and a dedicated corner for Angst products.

Mega Image plans to open two new Gusturi Romanesti shops in Bucharest, one on Mendeleev Street and one at Domenii Market.

Mega Image is the largest supermarket chain in Romania. It has 412 units in Bucharest and other large cities. It is part of Belgian group Delhaize.
