Dutch-Belgian retailer Mega Image launched its own online store in Romania yesterday.

Its online store was previously hosted by local online retailer eMag’s marketplace. The new Mega-image.ro online platform will operate separately from eMag’s marketplace.

The entire assortment of products is available for orders in Bucharest, but for orders in the country, fresh and frozen products are excluded due to logistic challenges. Customers can receive the products at home or they can personally lift them at pick-up points in Bucharest. They can choose the time range within which the delivery can be made at home.

Transport is free for orders of over RON 250 (EUR 53.7 million) and for smaller orders, the delivery cost amounts to RON 20 (EUR 4.2).

Mega Image has a network of 573 supermarkets and proximity stores in several cities in Romania, the highest number being in Bucharest. The retailer had sales of EUR 963 million and over 8.600 employees in 2016.
