Retailer Mega Image, owned by Belgian group Delhaize, will launch a new concept store in Romania’s capital Bucharest on September 25.

The new AB Cool Food concept store will be located on Ion Mihalache Blvd. and will have a total area of 180 sqm.  Mega Image will mainly sell frozen products in the new unit.

The Belgian retailer currently runs 250 stores in Romania, of which 150 are Mega Image stores and 100 Shop & Go neighborhood stores.

Last year, Mega Image recorded a turnover of around EUR 390 million – up 44 percent on the previous year.

The retailer almost doubled its number of stores in Romania last year, reaching a total of 193 units at the end of 2012, up from 105 a year before.
