Metro stations, churches and hotels in Romania must have civil protection shelters
Subway stations, churches, hotels and guesthouses with an area of at least 600 sqm, as well as sports halls with more than 400 seats need to be equipped with shelters for civil protection, the Government has decided.
The decision was made through a bill that includes new categories of buildings on the list of constructions that need to have shelters. By setting the limit of 600 sqm for accommodation units, almost all hotels and guesthouses in Romania will be obliged to set up shelters for civil protection.
The bill also removed the obligation of setting up such shelters for buildings with an area of less less than 600 sqm.
