MOL Group increases retail sales and market share in Romania in the first quarter of 2013

Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Group’s retail sales in Romania recorded a year-on-year increase of 5 percent in the first quarter of 2013, to 106,000 tons, according to the company.

In Romania, retail fuel sales increased in line with our network development growth and intensive marketing activities and thus achieved more than 13 percent market share,” reads a statement of the company.

The company’s diesel sales in Romania also went up 5 percent in the first quarter of 2013, compared to the same period last year, while the sales of gasoline remained stable. MOL’s number of filling stations in Romania also increased from a total of 129 at the end of March 2012, to 137 filling stations this year.

At a group level, the total retail sales volume, including LPG and lubricants volumes, decreased 3 percent over the previous year, according to the company.  At the end of March this year, the Hungarian Group had a total of 1,739 filling stations.
