MOL Romania doubles profit, records same turnover
MOL Romania, the local subsidiary of the Hungarian oil group MOL, recorded a turnover of over RON 2 billion (EUR 461 million) in the first half of this year.
The level was similar to the one recorded during the same period in 2015. The firm managed to double its profit, as it cut costs, reports local Ziarul Financiar.
The company sold 311,000 tons of oil products in Romania in the first six months of the year, up 16% over the same period last year. The growth reflected the general trend of higher consumption. However, the average prices went down year-on-year.
MOL Romania managed to enter the top 3 fuel retailers in the local market, surpassing the Russian group Lukoil, according to the company’s own information.
