Six Moldovan tourists were injured in a boat accident in Romania’s Danube Delta.

Two of them are still admitted at Tulcea County Hospital, while a third one, who suffered a head injury, was transferred to Constanta County Hospital, reports local News.ro. For the latter, the authorities even considered transporting him to a hospital in Bucharest.

Two water-taxi boats with 14 Moldovan tourists aboard clashed on Thursday evening in the Danube Delta, near Mila 35. Six of the tourists were doctors, who came to Romanian for a Congress, according to Tulcea county prefect Cristian Alexandru Iordan.

The authorities are currently trying to find out what caused this accident, and who is responsible for what happened.

One of the boats’ drivers left the scene right after the crash took place. However, he was later found in Tulcea and is to be questioned by the police. The authorities are to determine why the man ran away.
