More fashion heads to Bucharest's Old Town: Koton to open shop across the street from H&M

12 December 2013

Bucharest's Old Town is reshaping. Soon after H&M has opened its first street shop and the first large fashion retail unit in the Romanian capital's Old Town, another retailer follows suit.

Turkish retailer Koton will also open a shop not only on the Lipscani street, same street which hosts the H&M store, but just across the street from the Swedish retailer. Koton will set up shop in the building which used to host the Gin Factory bar.

Koton bought the building from Irish investor Noel Tynano, for some EUR 4.5 million, according to sources close to the deal, quoted by the Ziarul Financiar daily.

Koton runs four shops in Bucharest, all in shopping malls, and the unit in Lipscani will be its first street location.
