More than 4 mln Romanians have never seen the Black Sea

Over 4 million Romanians have never been to the Black Sea coast, while more than half the population hasn’t been to the Romanian seaside in the past decade, reports local Adevarul.

According to an IRES study conducted on a sample of 1,473 respondents, some 22 percent of Romanians have never been to the Romanian seaside and 37 percent say they have been there before 2000. Meanwhile, 14 percent say they have been to the Black Sea coast last year.

A third of the respondents stated they will go on a holiday. Almost half of them have between 21 and 30 days of holiday this year, 22 percent have between 11 and 20 days, while 15 percent have less than 10 days. Romania has around 19 million inhabitants.

More than one in five Romanians use to take a vacation only in the summer, shows the study. Over 40 percent prefer all inclusive stays and 64 percent of them would prefer these stays to be in Romania.

Of the 31 percent of respondents that prefer all inclusive holidays abroad, most choose Turkey - 22 percent, Greece - 14 percent and Spain - 12 percent.
