More than half of the public tenders in Romania are challenged
The total contracts auctioned last year through the electronic public procurement system (SEAP) amounted to RON 50 billion (EUR 11.1 billion).
Contracts worth RON 29 billion (EUR 6.5 billion) were challenged after the attribution, namely 58% of the total sum.
The National Council for Solving Complaints admitted the complaints for contracts worth RON 14.6 billion (EUR 3.2 billion) and asked the contracting authorities to fix the problems or cancelled the tenders altogether. T
he number of contracts undertaken by the state through the SEAP platform last year increased by 21% compared to 2014, but their value dropped to EUR 11.1 billion from EUR 17.2 billion in 2014.
