More trains to the Romanian seaside for the May 1 mini-break
As thousands of tourists are expected to hit the Romanian beaches for this year’s May 1 mini-break, Romanian passenger railway company CFR Calatori has increased the number of trains between April 29 and May 4. Some 20 new InterRegio and Regio trains link several large cities to the Romanian seaside resorts, according to CFR.
Two Youth Trains will connect the capital Bucharest and the Mangalia seaside resort between April 30 and May 3, as Mangalia is close to Vama Veche, one of the most popular Romanian seaside destinations. One of the trains will depart from Bucharest North train station at 02:40 and will arrive in Mangalia at 07:47. For the return trip, it will leave from Mangalia at 17:49, from Constanta at 20:20 and will be in Bucharest at 23:46.
CFR Calatori also introduced the Seaside Trains, which take tourists from Bucharest to Constanta in just two hours.
A train ride between Bucharest and Constanta costs between RON 30.5 and RON 112.4, depending on the type of train.
According to a CFR statement, some InterRegio and Regio trains will not run on some days between May 1 and May4, due to the low passenger traffic. Moreover, on May 1, the CFR travel agencies will be closed, but travellers can still buy tickets from train stations, with enough time prior to departure.
