The 27th edition of the National Theatre Festival will be organized in Bucharest from October 20 to October 29.

Theatre critic Marina Constantinescu will be the artistic director of the festival, as well as the person in charge of selecting the shows. The official selection of Romanian shows to be invited at the 2017 edition of the National Theatre Festival will be announced in early-July.

The 27th edition of the event will be dedicated to Romanian film and stage actor Victor Rebengiuc. He is one of the most popular actors in Romania, as well as a major figure in the local cinema, being especially known for his role as Ilie Moromete in the 1987 film Morometii, based on the first volume of the novel with the same name.
