NATO may bring heavy military gear to Romania
NATO will soon decide whether to bring heavy military equipment, such as tanks, armored vehicles and others, to Romania, according to General Philip M. Breedlove, the supreme commander of the allied forces in Europe (SACEUR).
“I’m sure that when this happens Romania will promptly respond, as always, and will agree to the pre-positioning of this technique. Romania has always been a trusted NATO partner,” the NATO official said.
Breedlove on March 31 made an official visit to Bucharest, where he met President Klaus Iohannis, Prime Minister Victor Ponta and Romanian Minister of Defense Mircea Dusa.
The latter said that Romania is already discussing the technical details of NATO’s heavy military equipment deployment to the country.
The PM only said that Romania will host any military capabilities NATO may decide.
