South-African group NEPI, one of the largest real estate investors in Romania, is preparing to start the construction work at the Shopping City Satu Mare mall, which should be opened at the end of next year.

The investment in the shopping center, which will have a rentable area of about 28.000 sqm, is estimated at about EUR 40 million.

Shopping City Satu Mare will be built on an area of about six hectares and will have a parking lot with 1,000 places.

NEPI plans to open Ramnicu Valcea Mall this year, a project estimated at EUR 9.6 million. The group also plans to expand Shopping City Galati, Shopping City Sibiu, and Ploiesti Shopping City by the end of this year.

NEPI is an investment and development group listed on the Johannesburg bourse as well as the Bucharest Stock Exchange. In 2016, NEPI had a profit attributable to shareholders of about EUR 235 million, up almost 50% compared to the previous year.
