Food manufacturer & distributor Nestle Romania posted a turnover of some EUR 157 million in 2015, up by 7% compared to 2014, said Herve de Froment, Nestle Romania CEO.

Last year was the best year ever for the company on the Romanian market, as the sales recorded a boom due to the VAT cut on food, said Herve de Froment.

Nestle has been active in Romania for 20 years. In 2014, the company recorded a turnover of EUR 145 million.

In the last ten years, the food manufacturer has invested EUR 10 million in expanding the capacity of its plant in Timisoara. Nestle bought the Joe waffle plant in Timisoara in 2000.

The company exports 35% of the production from its Timisoara plant to Hungary, Ireland and countries near the Adriatic & Mediterranean seas.
