Net investments in Romania's economy grow by 8.5%
The net investments in the Romanian economy totaled EUR 2.6 billion in the first quarter of the year, up 8.5% year-on-year.
The increase was due to a 16% growth in new construction work investments, 3.8% higher investments in equipment and 0.4% in other expenses, according to the National Institute of Statistics.
The investments in new construction work reached EUR 1.1 billion, whereas those in equipment amounted to EUR 1.2 billion. The industry, commerce and the services sector benefited from most investments.
