Net wealth per person in Romania, 13 times lower than in Eurozone
The net wealth per person in Romania reached almost EUR 10,000 last year, which is 13 times lower compared to the Eurozone, according to Romania’s National Bank (BNR). The average debt per person in Romania amounted to EUR 1,300 last year.
Real estate assets still have the largest share in the Romanians’ net wealth structure, although the trend was downward in recent years, reports Ziarul Financiar. Last year, real estate assets had a 64% share in the net wealth, compared to 85% in 2009.
Households' net wealth in Romania continued the upward trend started in 2012, but at a modest pace. Last year, the Romanians’ net wealth rose by 3% compared to 2013. This was due to the increase in the financial and real estate assets by 2.5% and the debt reduction by 2.8%.
