New academic year starts today in Romania

Almost half of million Romanian students start the new academic year today, October 1. Of the total, almost 340,000 study in state universities and some 110,000 in private universities.

For this academic year, the Ministry of Education has ordered controls, to be carried out both directly and in collaboration with the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, at three universities, according to Agerpres. The three institutions to be monitored are the Bioterra University in Bucharest, Gheorghe Cristea University of Sciences and Arts in Bucharest and Apollonia University in Iasi.

Romania’s fall baccalaureate session ends with 22.7% admission rate.
