New billing system installed in several traditional Bucharest markets, city halls hopes to double rent revenues
Three traditional markets in Bucharest, at Progresul, Apărătorii Patriei and Sudului have been equipped with a taxation system for renting out stands by using tablets with wireless connections.
The new system also includes the possibility to issue bills when renting out stands, as well as the ability to see real time information about how much the market cashed in.
The info can be accessed via mobile phone or tablet by the market administrator.
The new system should help the markets double their sales, which will be used to repay the loan taken for the upgrade.
“There was double accounting, but now there's now way to hide cashings,” said Cristian Popescu, the Sector 4 mayor, where the three markets are located. Via the new system, the documents will be archived for two years. During the test period for the new system, the value of revenues per market went up by about EUR 340 a day.
