New car registrations in Romania down 4.1% in July
Over 7,900 new cars were registered in Romania in July this year, a 4.1 percent decrease compared to the same month in 2012, according to the recent data provided by Romania’s Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration (DRPCIV).
There were over 5,700 new passenger cars registered in Romania in July 2013, down from over 6,000 passenger cars recorded in the same month last year.
Dacia has maintained market leadership with 1,633 new cars registered in July, a year-on-year increase of 13.4 percent. Second place was taken by Volkswagen, with 676 units - down 5.7 percent, followed by Skoda with 468 units, representing a decline of 11.9 percent.
According to DRPCIV’s data, the rarest car brands sold in Romania in July were Jaguar, Lexus and MINI - five units, SsangYong - three units, and Bentley, Daewoo, Ferrari, and Lada - one unit.
