New car sales go up 16.7% in Romania in the first 11 months

The sales of new motor vehicles in Romania amounted to over 128,100 units in the first eleven months of the year, up 16.7% compared to 2015, according to data from the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA).

Of the total number, almost 104,000 were passenger cars, whereas over 24,100 were commercial vehicles.

Dacia remained the best-selling car brand, with 31,844 units sold in the first eleven months of the year, representing over 30% of the total sales. It was followed by Volkswagen, with over 11,000 units, and Skoda, with over 9,400 units.

The domestic car production amounted to more than 337,700 units in this period, down 5.9% year-on-year. The car exports also went down by 8.7%.
