New extreme sport in Romania: FlyBoard school gives water diving and up-in-the-air thrills

10 June 2013

The first FlyBoard school recently opened in Romania. The school’s courses and training programs are currently held on Snagov Lake, near Bucharest, but the organizers plan to also hold courses at the seaside, in the near future. The initial course costs EUR 350 and has two stages - theoretical and practical.

FlyBoards use water jets to propel the rider up to ten meters into the air, dive into the water and then go up into the air again. Franky Zapata, the founder of Zapata Racing, started developing the FlyBoard during 2011. Zapata Racing posted a video on Youtube, which was visited more than 2.5 million times in 15 days.
