New insolvencies, down by half in Romania
The number of companies that filed for insolvency dropped by 56% in the first six months of the year compared to the same period last year, reaching over 5,700, according to the Trade Registry’s Office - ONRC.
In Bucharest, almost 1,100 companies entered insolvency in this period, down by half compared to the first half of 2014. Bihor county comes next with 303 insolvent companies, followed by Timis county, with 284 companies entering insolvency.
In the first six months of the year, Romania saw over 62,000 newly registered companies, 13.5% more than in the same period in 2014. Bucharest recorded over 10,000 new registrations, followed by Cluj county (about 3,200) and Timis county (over 2,600).
