New regulations for tax inspections in Romania
Romania’s Tax Authority ANAF will suspend a company’s activity only after it finds a second irregularity in 24 months and only if the difference between the observed amounts and the value recorded in the cash register exceeds RON 300 (EUR 67.7) and 3%.
The Government approved on April 22 an Emergency Ordinance that regulates the sanctions tax inspectors may apply when they find irregularities.
If they discover a difference of up to 3% but not higher than RON 300, they will punish the company with a warning.
If the difference is over 3%, but up to RON 300, the fine will be between RON 2,000-5000 (EUR 451-1,128).
If the difference is between RON 300-1,000 (EUR 67-225), but less than 3%, the fine amounts to RON 10,000-15,000 (EUR 2,257-3,386).
Lastly, if the difference is between RON 300-1,000, and over 3%, the fine is between RON 15,000-20,000 (EUR 3,386-4,515).
