A new underground car park could be built downtown Bucharest, according to a project presented within the Bucharest City Hall, and cited by Hotnews.ro.

The car park would have between 300 and 400 parking spaces, on three levels underground, and could be connected to the existing parking at Intercontinental.

The Edgar Quinet street could also become a pedestrian street, under the new proposal. The entry to the car park could be placed in front of the Architecture University building in the Universitate area.

Another entry could be in front of the National Theater. But the architect who managed the modernization of the National Theater, Romeo Belea, is against placing a car park entry in front of the theater, as he says this is unseen anywhere in the world.

Interparking, the company which built and currently manages the current underground car park in Universitate area, is interested in this second project, according to the project creators from the Architecture University, quoted by Hotnews.ro.
