Nicolae Ratiu to talk about Romanian businessman and philanthropist Ion Ratiu in September event

Nicolae Ratiu, Chairman of the Ratiu Foundation, will hold a conference about his father, Ion Ratiu (in picture), Romanian businessman, statesman and philanthropist, on September 25, starting 11:00 hours, at the Atelier Hall of the National Theatre in Bucharest. Among other things, Nicolae Ratiu will talk about his father’s unwavering belief in Romania and the Romanians, according to the organziers.

Tickets for this event can be purchased for RON 25 and RON 10.

Businessman and philanthropist, Nicolae Ratiu is the General Director of Regent House Properties Ltd and other companies in the United Kingdom, France and Romania, with a major portfolio in real estate, furniture manufacture and printing.

His father, Ion Ratiu, was born in 1917 and he was the elected leader of the World Union of Free Romanians, based in London, was the most outspoken and consistent voice of opposition to Nicolae Ceausescu. Journalist, broadcaster and author, he was also a successful businessman in shipping and property, while simultaneously assisting in the rescue and support of many who fled Ceausescu’s dictatorship.
