Night bus services are among extra measures for Bucharest over May 1 and Easter holiday period
Bucharest's public transport system RATB will run night buses over the May 1/Easter period, after the city's mayor Sorin Oprescu asked for a number of extra services and measures for the holidays. RATB has scheduled 51 buses to run every 40 minutes on the night lines and every 30 minutes on the express line 783.
The extra night bus services are part of a series of measures for the holiday period, which also include extra police patrols, supplementary street and public space cleaning and video surveillance. Police on horseback will patrol Bucharest's parks and the activities of street vendors in the busy downtown areas will be monitored and restricted, according to information released by Bucharest City Hall, quoted by local news agency Mediafax.
The 23 night bus lines will provide transport from the city center to Bucharest's neighborhoods and RATB will operate its special program between May 1 and May 6.
