17 October 2011

Romania didn’t win any medal at the recent Gymnastics World Championships in Tokyo. This hasn't happened in 30 years, as Romanian gymnasts usually get on the podium. Romanian gymnast Amelia Racea ranked fifth, while Catalina Ponor finished on the seventh place. The Women’s Balance Beam’s world title was won by the Chinese Sui Lu, followed on the podium by Jinnan Yao and American Jordyn Wieber.

Romania’s men team ranked eighth, while the women’s team took the fifth place. At the Women’s Individual All-around final, Romanian Ana Porgras ranked sixth, while Flavius Kocz took the 12th place at the Men’s Individual All-around final.
