Nokia Romania appoints Marcus Storkel as new General Manager

Marcus Storkel will take over as Nokia Romania’s new general manager starting January 1, 2012, according to the company. He will replace Razvan Petrescu whose three-year term expires at the end of this year.

The new general manager will coordinate the activities of the local team and the relationships with local partners for Romania and Hungary, according to the company. He holds a degree in international management, marketing and control from the Giessen University in Germany and has been working for Nokia for the last 15 years.

In the last few years he has held several regional marketing and sales manager positions in the East-central Europe. In 2009 he was appointed Nokia’s Country Manager for Hungary.

Nokia Corporation is a Finnish communications multinational that is headquartered in Keilaniemi,Espoo, a city neighboring Finland’s capital Helsinki. Nokia manufactures mobile devices, with over 132,000 employees in 120 countries and sales in more than 150 countries.

The company announced in September this year that it will close down its manufacturing facility in Cluj, Romania.
