Norway grants EUR 26 mln to Romanian companies for eco-innovation in business
More than 50 companies and NGOs in Romania will receive about EUR 26 million from Norway, for eco-innovation in business, through the Green Industry Innovation Programme for Romania.
The financed projects will contribute to creating jobs, cutting the CO2 emissions, increasing energy efficiency and waste collection, reports local Dailybusiness.ro.
Despite various improvements in the last years, Romania still lags behind the EU average for eco-innovation in business, especially in the case of the small and medium-sized enterprises.
The total amount reimbursed by June this year for the projects within the program reaches EUR 5.9 million for large individual projects and over EUR 900,000 for the small grants scheme.
