Norway increases the grants for projects in Romania
Norway will grant Romania EUR 502 million in the 2014-2021 financial exercise, after the two states signed yesterday the memorandum for approving the EEA and Norwegian Fund mechanisms.
Compared to the 2009-2014 financial exercise, Romania will get some EUR 200 million more.
The financing programme was launched in September 2016, but it will come into force only now, after the strategic document was signed, reports local Mediafax. Romania thus becomes the state with the biggest financing in Europe, on a par with Poland.
Norway has awarded grants worth EUR 26 million to 50 local companies and NGOs within the 2009-2014 financing programme. The funds were awarded for green investments, which created over 200 permanent jobs.
