Norwegian film gets main award at Romania's Transylvania International Film Festival
The Norwegian movie "Oslo, 31 August", directed Joachim Trier, won the Transylvania Trophy at the Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF). The prize of EUR 15,000 was presented on Saturday evening in Cluj – Napoca by Geraldine Chaplin (in picture) - daughter of Charlie Chaplin and star of many films, including the classic 'Dr Zhivago.'
French director Claude Lelouch and American screen legend Geraldine Chaplin received lifetime achievement awards at the end of the competition.
The prize for the best director was given to Serbian Maja Milos for the feature-length movie “Clip”. The special jury prize went to the feature length film "Chapiteau Show" by Sergei Loban from Russia. The award for the best image went to 'From Thursday to Sunday' by Barbara Alvarez, while British actor/director/screenwriter Paddy Considine received the award from the International Federation of Film Critics.
Romanians also got some awards at TIFF: Radu Gabrea received a special mention at the Romanian Film Days, while Radu Jude and Nicolae Constantin Tănase got awards for “Everyone in our family” and “Blu”, respectively.
