First nuclear medicine center opens at Military Hospital in Bucharest

The first integrated center for nuclear medicine in Romania opened at the Carol Davila Emergency Military Hospital in Bucharest after an investment of over EUR 4.3 million.

The equipment at this center can be used to diagnose cancer as well as cardiovascular and neurological diseases.

Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty involving the application of radioactive substances in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The new center was developed with the support of the Defense Ministry, which has the hospital under its authority.
