Number of building permits, down by 14.6% in Romania
The number of building permits for residential buildings in Romania dropped by 14.6% in January to 1,429 compared to the same period in 2015.
More than half (61.9%) of the building permits were issued for the rural area, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The most significant drops were recorded in the South-East and North-West, South-Muntenia, and Bucharest-Ilfov regions. Only the North-East region recorded increases in the number of building permits.
