Number of individuals with debts, highest since June 2013 in Romania
The number of individuals with more than 30-day overdue liabilities to banks and non-banking financial institutions rose by over 10,600 in March over the previous month, reaching almost 726,000.
This is the highest number of late debtors since June 2013, according to Romania’s Credit Bureau, which centralizes data from local financial institutions.
Some 740,180 people had arrears at banks and nonbanking financial institutions in June 2013. In February this year, the number of people with arrears totaled almost 715,300.
March was the third month in a row when the number of debtors increased. The total value of overdue debt was EUR 2.55 billion, in March, the highest level in the last nine months.
The arrears of over 90 days reached EUR 1.7 billion.
