Number of Romanian and Bulgarian workers in Britain reaches record level
The number of Romanian and Bulgarian workers in Britain has reached a new high after migrants from the two countries gained full access to the country’s labour market at the beginning of this year, reports The Telegraph.
According to data from the Statistics Office, there were 153,000 Romanians and Bulgarians working in Britain in the second quarter of the year, up some 9 percent year-on-year.
When compared to the same period in 2012, the increase is of 47 percent, while compared to the figure recorded in April-June 2011, the growth is of 59 percent, reports The Telegraph.
