Number of temporary jobs doubles in Romania compared to 2010
Over 67,000 people were employed in temporary jobs last year, double compared to 2010, when the number of temporary employees amounted to 30,000, according to a study of the Romanian Association of Temporary Work Agents (ARAMT).
“There is still place for a sustained growth of the temporary employment market, its penetration rate in Romania (0.2%) is still below the EU average of 1.8%," said Cristina Savu, ARAMT president.
The temporary labor was most prevalent in manufacturing (58%) and services (27%), the ARAMT study shows.
Women represented 43% of the total temporary employees last year, compared to 51% in 2010. Over 53% of the temporary employees have a Bachelor degree, compared to only 23% in 2010.
