Number of vacant jobs goes up in Romania in Q1
The number of vacant jobs rose by 13,200 in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period of 2015, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The public administration saw the highest job vacancy rate between January and March, namely 3.5% or 8,900 vacant jobs. The healthcare and social services sector had 7,700 vacant jobs during this period, whereas about 2,400 jobs were vacant in the education sector.
The manufacturing sector recorded over 25% of the total number of vacant jobs, namely some 15,000 jobs.
The extracting sector saw the lowest vacancy rate, with only 0.41%, followed by the production and supply of electricity and thermal energy, with 0.42%.
