Office market deals outside Bucharest, up by 60%

In 2014, the office market outside Bucharest had the third consecutive year of growth.

The main transactions accounted for a 37,377 sqm leased area, up 60% over 2013 and seven times more compared to 2012.

The three top cities of interest were Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara and Iasi, which have the highest stock of Class A and B office spaces outside Bucharest, according to real estate consultancy Esop, reports local Dailybusiness.ro.

Compared to 2013, when IT&C companies generated most transactions, 2014 and the beginning of 2015 recorded relocations or pre-rentals for businesses in the energy, car, industry or IT&C sectors.

In 2014, Bucharest was the favourite headquarter location for enterprises, followed by Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Iasi and Ploiesti.
